Have you seen the Irish and English lotto adverts recently? Does anything strike you about them? Look how positive the English ad is-‘What would you do with a million?’ Now look at the negativity of the Irish ad-‘What would you do for a million?’ Which one is more inspiring?
We all know how bad-off this country is right now. And, we know there is more we still haven’t been told. We’ve all been hit with extra taxes, wage decreases, job loses, especially those lower down. I was one of them. I lost my ‘almost dream’ job. I decided to keep following my dream. So did Rachel and Tricia. We opened Dublin Therapeutic Massage Clinic and we are now living our dream more completely than ever. Our new clinic offers an extended range of therapeutic, relaxing and healing massages than the old clinic allowed for, taking full advantage of all our skills. It’s a challenge and a risk but it is fun and rewarding doing it for ourselves.
When we lost our jobs, I looked at out situation. I saw the hell the government, the bankers and the developers have unleashed on this county. They have a lot to answer for. But, so do we. We sat back and turned a blind eye, letting them do it. We went along with the rise in wages and the decrease in tax. We gazumped house prices. We voted them in. It wasn’t just the government, the banks, the developers that got greedy and ruined us. We all did, albeit on a smaller scale.
I challenge you now, to accept that responsibility. I challenge you to move past the blame game and help in creating a new Ireland. We can all dream and should dream the greatest possible dream. Imagine having your dream house, dream job, dream bank balance. Remember, money is a symbol of the time and energy we put into something. Are you putting all your time and effort into pursuing your dream? I am!
I challenge you to make your dream a reality.
The Celtic Tiger was the result of everyone pursuing their dreams. Look at all the good things we had. What happened? Our psyche told us good things don’t last and everything fell apart. Our parents told us we couldn’t have everything we wanted and so we didn’t. But we can have everything we want. We can have our dreams and they can be real.
Follow me. Pursue you dreams. Accept the situation we have found ourselves in and choose to make your own corner of it better. Together, with everyone creating bright little corners, the whole of Ireland can shine again.
